10:50 pm - icon help

hearthisvoice
This should be easy, and I'm sorry to ask an annoying first question, but I've been through the memories, old posts, Google image searched, and everything else I can think of and still can't find what I want...you know that animated Billy icon that says "Don't buy drugs" and then flashes to "Become a pop star and they give you them for free!" that was EVERYWHERE for a while? I had it on my old computer which crashed. Anyone have it handy? Thanks, in advance! :)

frankbook
Hello.

Does anyone know where I can find a (free) download to the Portuguese Love Theme?

If any of you have it, could you send it to me?

I thank you so kindly...

10:57 am - Community Newbie Post! (Haven't done these in a while)

phantomreviewer

Hi!

I'm the

phantomreviewer. Normally shortened to PR or just phantom.

I have fallen in love with Love Actually. Literally. I'd seen it a few times and bought it on DVD, I've watched it twice today. I'm a little into it. It's very probally my favourite film.

And when inspiration strikes I'll probally write some fic on it, but I was wondering if anyone could point me in a direction (that isn't ff.net) for some Love Actually Fiction.

Oh and if you hadn't guessed David and Natalie are my favourite storyline.

pseudo_shigure hi guys, i just join the community..

i really love this movie. And one of the story that i love most is the one with Alan Rickman and his wife. I didn't know Joni Mithcell before, i don't know her songs, i don't know the lyric. But when i watched it with such a scene, i just think i should listen to that song!

But sadly, i didn't have the chance to look for the song until now. So, if it's allowed and not too much trouble, i hope you guys can upload the song for me.

thanks in advance :)

I decided to finally complete a music video last night. I've started lots over the years but always get bored partway through. Anyway I was determined to complete this one.

8:58 pm - A little help, please?

bijjy
Around Christmas time last year, I offered up the three Love Themes from LA. Recently I bought a new computer and I somehow failed to back up my copies of Pm's Love Theme and the Portuguese Love Theme. I was wondering if anyone here could send them back to me in return?

In return I offer the only Love Theme I have, the Glasgow Love Theme, as well as Sweetest Goodbye/Sunday Morning by Maroon 5

12:17 pm - Hello!

the_haunted_one

I'm currently writing a media dissertation and I wondered if you'd answer some questions for me? It wouldn't take too long at all, and I'd be very grateful. The essay is on ideology in Romantic Comedy, particularly in Notting Hill and Love Actually. Its not essential, but if you could leave your age and gender in the comment I'd be very happy, just to correlate statistics.

  1. How would you define the term Romantic Comedy? (I know that sounds stupid but there is a good reason)

  2. Are they any conventions of the genre, and if so, what are they?

  3. Do these conventions make Romcoms unrealistic?

  4. If yes, then does this add to or detract from your enjoyment of them, and why?

  5. How similar are the films Notting Hill and Love Actually?

  6. Is one of them more realistic than the other and why?

  7. Do these films (both set in our capital) show an idealised version of London?

  8. Do you think Hugh Grant is a staple of the RomCom genre? Which other actors could you say the same of?

  9. Are there any characters within these two films you would way were more unrealistic and ideological than others? Why?

  10. Finally, is there anything about Notting Hill or Love Actually, or the genre as a whole that you'd like to mention?

Thank you so much in advance!

1:58 am - PG 13 version?

geminibear
Hi, I'm new...I was just wondering if there is a version of this movie out without the porn subplot and without any nudity? I know it exists (or rather, an edited version of it exists) because its the version they always show when its on tv. It seems like such a nice, fun movie to watch with my family and would have been great (and less embarrassing) to watch without the unnecessary nude scenes.

ADORE Love Actually
one of my favs, definitely, and one of the best movies ever.

Introducing myself with some quotes...cause the movie is full of them<3

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I like to think of the arrivals gate at Hethrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred or greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the messages from the passengers on board were messages of hate; they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

"Let's go get the shit kicked out of us by love!"

"All I want for Christmas...is you."

"I'll just standing around the mistletoe...hoping to be kissed."

"For now let me just say - without hope or agenda, just because it's Christmas, and at Christmas you tell the truth - to me, you are perfect, and my wasted heart will love you."

Jamie: You learned English.
Aurelia: Just in cases.

Daniel: He should have kissed her!
Carol: No, that's cool.

"We may be a small country, but we're a great on too. A country of Shakespeare, Churchill, The Beatles, Sean Connery, Harry Potter, David Beckham's right foot...David Beckham's left good, come to that."

Mikey (D.J.): I think you're referring to, "If you really love Christmas..."
Billy: "...come on and let it snow." Ouch.

"I am Colin, God of Sex."

"You know the thing about romance is people only get together right at the very end."

Daniel: Well, I mean, I'm a little relieved.
Sam: Why?
Daniel: Well, because I thought it would be something worse.
Sam: Worse than the total agony of being in love?

"Don't buy drugs. Become a pop star, and they give you them for free!"

"She's the coolest girl in school, and everyone worships her because she's heaven."

"As much as it grieves me to say it, the people I love may be in fact...you."

"We need Kate, and we need Leo, and we need them now."
